Dr. Courtney Phillips

I believe that therapy is a space where understanding, growth, and healing become possible. My approach is rooted in psychodynamic, relational, multicultural, and feminist frameworks, and I strive to create an environment where clients feel truly seen, supported, and meaningfully challenged. I am deeply committed to social justice and believe therapy is enriched when identities and cultural contexts become part of the conversation.

My professional journey did not begin with psychology (I worked in corporate roles for about 5 years), but course-corrected as my personal experiences and relationships demonstrated the power and importance of mental health. As I pursued my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from William James College in Newton, MA, my training experiences centered on identity development, relational trauma, and complex family systems. These concerns were highly relevant during my internship year at Cal State Northridge’s Counseling Center where I worked with many non-traditional and first-generation college students.

When I’m not at work, I love to spend time in nature with my dogs, listen to audiobooks, and play board games.

Beginning therapy can feel risky and uncomfortable; I strive to meet this bravery with thoughtfulness, openness, and authenticity. If this sounds like a match for you, book a 15-minute consultation below!
