Danielle Cevis, M.A.
I will never forget sitting in my first therapy office waiting room and realizing no one there looked like me. In that moment, I felt the weight of what it means to wonder if therapy is truly for "people like me." That moment stayed with me, not as discouragement, but as a promise to myself that I would one day become the kind of therapist I needed to see. Someone who could hold space for the full complexity of identity and experiences, who could meet clients without judgment, and who could affirm that asking for help is not weakness, but courage.
As a multiracial woman born in Maryland and raised in New Jersey, my journey has taken me from earning a Bachelor's in Neuroscience at the University of Delaware, to a Master's in Sport and Performance Psychology, and now pursuing my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Denver. Along the way, I have supported clients through anxiety, depression, trauma, identity development, relationship concerns, and life transitions. I am passionate about supporting BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ populations and work with both individuals and couples.
My therapeutic style is often described as warm, calm, and humorous. My approach is relational and collaborative as I believe healing happens in connection, and that therapy should be co-created to honor your unique story. Together, we can explore how your experiences shape your present, uncover patterns that may no longer serve you, and build new ways of relating to yourself and others.
